A Touch Of Elegance

Kristie from Lee.Marie Antiqued Furniture gave this hutch a pretty two-toned finish with Lazy Linen and Elegance. Isn't it just lovely?!
When it comes to painting furniture, I am usually scared of using two different colours. But this happened. And I love it! It's not as crazy as a true bold colour block, but it's a start! A Touch Of Elegance #DIY #furniturepaint #paintedfurniture #homedecor #hutch #diningroom #grey #chalkpaint #rustic #farmhouse #neutral #countrychicpaint - blog.countrychicpaint.com I tend to lean towards neutral colours, but still try to make each piece a statement. For this one I chose a soft barley-there grey, Lazy Linen. I wanted this piece to have some contrast and show off that window detail, but still remain fairly neutral, so I chose the colour Elegance. It's the perfect pastel shade of blue with a pinch of green, and isn't too turquoise or bold. Well, this piece already had a very obvious architectural split right through the middle, and all I could see was a colour block style. So I went for it. And now it's my new favourite thing! The colours Lazy Linen and Elegance keep it soft and neutral, but the split makes it adventurous and interesting. I painted the hardware on the bottom to blend in and sealed it with a couple coats of Clear Coat. I sealed it all with clear wax and staged it with some mint coloured succulents and crisp white dishes for some fresh spring vibes!

I’m Kristie. I am a wife, a mama to a crazy toddler, and a part time dental assistant. But any spare time I get, I am refinishing furniture! I started a couple years ago just with random pieces around the house, and quickly became addicted. I love the challenge of it all. The hunt for a good one, piecing it all back together, and choosing a colour and look that brings it back to life. I love the quote “have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful”. Life is too short to have boring furniture.
