Antique Greige Bedroom Set
Faye from Farm Life Best Life refurbished this antique bedroom set in her favorite greige color, Sunday Tea! Come and find out her secret tip for working with antique dresser drawers.
Faye found this beautiful bedroom set in very solid condition, complete with two dressers and a lovely headboard and footboard.
However, they had some nicks and watermarks in the finish that made paint the perfect new finish.
Before she dove in, she gave everything a good cleaning with a mixture of vinegar and water to remove residue and contaminants.
When choosing colors, Faye wanted to stay in keeping with the original classic, antique look, so she chose two lovely neutrals; Sunday Tea (a warm greige), and Vanilla Frosting (an antique white).
She applied a few coats of Sunday Tea over the entirety of all three pieces, then used Vanilla Frosting on the ornate detailed areas to help make them stand out.
She used 120 grit sandpaper to distress the edges which is also reminiscent of the original, antique vibe.
After a bit of clear top coat, this beautiful suite is finally ready for its new home!
TIP: Faye used a bit of Clear Wax on the dresser drawer glides to help make them slide more smoothly. If you ever have stiff drawers, give this a try!
