Black End Tables

Crystal from The Driftwood Home used Liquorice and just a touch of Belt Buckle metallic cream to give these black end tables a rustic industrial vibe!

I’ve set a goal for myself to work on 5 pieces a month this year. Not only am I killing that goal so far, but I decided to start the new year off by painting with some color. I’ve always loved statement pieces, but nothing makes a statement like black.

I got this solid set of end tables off a local free site. Although they are 90% solid wood, the top is a pine base with an oak veneer. Either way, I knew I wanted to go with Liquorice as the main color, and let the pretty oak grain shine through with a light golden stain.

I’m usually drawn to monochromatic colors because they are classic and timeless. I used only two coats of Country Chic Paint in “Liquorice” and decided not to distress them. I was going for a modern farmhouse look/or rustic industrial and I think I hit the nail on the head.

Then I sprayed 3 coats of Country Chic Paint's Clear Coat over the entire piece for durability. I imagine that wherever these are placed in a home, they will gets lots of use as end tables, or nightstands, so I wanted them to be well protected.

I’ve also started making videos for my followers on IG and Facebook using some of my favorite products. One of the videos I made features me sprucing up these knobs and giving them an antiqued brass look using Country Chic Paint's Belt Buckle metallic cream, which is so easy to use.

I love how you can dramatically change the look of your hardware with just a kiss of the Country Chic Paint Metallic Creams.
