Colorful Children’s Furniture
Cait from Little City Farmhouse gave this set of children's furniture a colorful makeover with Clear Bonding Primer, Bliss, Crinoline, and Bee's Knees, all sealed with Clear Coat!
I absolutely love painting furniture for little ones! It's probably because my kids are definitely out of that baby age and I miss it! So when a good friend of mine asked to paint this table and chair set for her little one, I happily obliged! Her one stipulation - colour!
I started by giving the entire piece a coat of Clear Bonding Primer. I can't speak highly enough about this product. It is an absolute must for any painter! It ensures perfect adhesion and saves a lot of time sanding! The first coat I put on the chairs and table legs was Bee's Knees. I wanted to distress this piece and have a little bit of colour pop through. I layered a coat of Bliss on top of that when it was dry.
For the top of the table, I started by giving it a couple coats of Crinoline, which has become one of my favourite whites in the Country Chic line-up. When that was dry I used a stencil that I purchased from a local craft store and painted hearts on with Vintage Cupcake.
I distressed the table really well to give it a more worn and vintage look. I sealed the entire table with several coats of Clear Coat to finish it up. Isn't it cute? Perfect for a little girl who loves colour!
Cait {Little City Farmhouse}
Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
