DIY Rustic Wooden Tray Craft Tutorial
Cheri from Said Your Way Studio is here today with step-by-step instructions so you can create your own rustic wooden serving tray right at home!
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to make a rustic wooden tray painted with Country Chic Paint’s All-in-One Decor Paint!
The Supplies:
- Wood round
- 2 chip brushes
- Paper towel or shop towels
- 1 small container or plastic cup for mixing paint & water
- water
- Two screen door pulls for handles
- Country Chic Paint’s All-in-One Decor Paint in the colors Dark Roast & Vanilla Frosting
- Country Chic Paint’s Natural Wax or Hemp Oil
- Optional: stencil
- Optional: make-up sponge for stenciling
Using a chip brush, randomly apply Vanilla Frosting paint to the round in multiple areas. Let dry.
Mix approximately ½ dark roast paint and ½ water in a small cup.
Use a chip brush to apply thinned paint to surface of round. Wipe back with shop towel or paper towel. Let dry.
Once dry, use a dry brush technique (very little amount of paint on a dry brush) to apply paint randomly on the surface to give a layered paint appearance.
Let dry, apply your stencil, and dab on paint.
You can finish with Country Chic Paint’s Natural wax or Hemp oil to add protection, then attach your handles.
