This beautifully restored dresser is ready for the upcoming spring weather thanks to Cait from Little City Farmhouse! She used Cobblestone, Rocky Mountain, and Antiquing Wax to complete the transformation.

I have had this dresser for many, many months. It had layers upon layers of paint on it that needed to be removed before it could be painted. I worked on stripping the paint off (painstakingly!) here and there in between other projects. My original plan was to restore and stain most of the dresser, but the wood underneath all that paint wasn't in great condition. The dresser was solid and sturdy and still had lots of life left in it so it was on to plan b!



I started by painting the dresser in Cobblestone. This colour has long been a favourite of mine because its a deep moody colour that goes with almost everything. After two coats, I gave it a light sanding and stamped the floral pattern on the drawers using Rocky Mountain.





The dresser had so much texture and charm and I really wanted to show that off, so I gave it a couple coats of Antiquing Wax to highlight and show that all off. If you are doing multiple coats of wax it is important to let them dry for a little bit in between so you don't end up with a thick tacky feel.
