Get Ready for Happy Hour!
This simple, beautiful makeover was done by Cait from Little City Farmhouse with Happy Hour and Clear Wax!Projects that you can pick up for a great price and refinish in an afternoon are some of the most satisfying! They're fun smaller projects that don't take a lot of time but can completely change in appearance. I picked up this small cabinet recently and in a matter of a few hours had it completely finished.
It started out as a honey oak colour. Nothing special and definitely needing something new and fresh. I sanded the finish off the top and applied a quick drying stain. For the rest of the cabinet, I quickly and lightly gave it a sanding and then painted it in two coats of Happy Hour in the All-in-One formula. If you are looking for the perfect paint to do a quick project, the All-in-One formula is exactly what you need. It has fantastic adhesion, and because it is a primer and a paint in one the coverage is excellent. It dries fast and has a built in top coat!
When the cabinet was dry, I sanded it with 220grit sandpaper and distressed it. I opted for a light coat of Clear Wax to add a little extra depth to the colour, but because the topcoat is built into the paint, this is completely optional. To seal the top of the cabinet, I gave it a coat of Hemp Oil.
From blah to happy in just a couple hours! Happy painting!

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
