Metallic Plate Chargers
Hello Friends,
I love setting a beautiful table and adding plate chargers is a great way to make your table scape look pretty.

Pretty plate chargers are very hard to find, and when you do find pretty ones, they can be quite expensive. I set up this pretty Spring-like plate setting using metallic serving trays which I upcycled into plate chargers.
Whenever I am thrifting, I always pick up some metal serving trays and look for different patterns. They are usually priced from $1.00 to $3.00 each and very easily found.
So here is the original 6 trays that I started with.

I painted them in “Elegance” and sanded them lightly with just a bit of distressing. I then sealed them with Clear Wax.

To emphasize the raised details, I applied Metallic Cream in "Silver Bullet” concentrating mainly around the edges. It has a pearl-like look to it and it is very subtle. You can apply the Metallic Cream with a brush. I actually used my fingers as I found it was easier to spot apply it on the raised details. Everything can then be washed-up easily with water.

The Metallic Cream dries pretty fast so if you apply it a little too thick, wipe off the excess immediately. I found it was best to work in sections.

I love the look of the different patterns mixed together and emphasized with the Metallic Cream.

I can’t wait for Spring!!!!
