Once Dining Hutch, Now Ensuite Cabinet
Faye from Farm Life Best Life used Vanilla Frosting, Happy Hour, Clear Wax, and Antiquing Dust to transform an old hutch into the perfect storage piece for her ensuite bathroom! Don't you just love a good upcycle? When I was lucky enough to come across this once loved but since forgotten dining hutch, I had every intention of restoring it so that it could continue its life in someone's dining room... however things don't always go as planned... and that's neither always a bad thing.
It dawned on me one day that this charming piece just might fit perfectly in our ensuite... and after giving it a try, it did — the most PERFECT fit indeed — clearly meant to be, and meant for ME! This once dining hutch, is now our ensuite cabinet... and I am over the moon in love with it!

Our ensuite holds warm tones of cream, grey and a somewhat robin-egg blue. To hold onto that palette that I love and have no intensions of changing anytime soon, I chose my transformation colours accordingly and eagerly got to work:
- Cleaned piece thoroughly, and removed hardware
- Applied 3 coats of Country Chic Paint’s All-In-One Decor Paint in the colour Vanilla Frosting to the body and drawers
- Applied 2 coats of Country Chic Paint’s All-In-One Decor Paint in the colour Happy Hour to the interior shelves and hardware
- Lightly distressed areas for a sweet country chic effect with sanding block
- Reapplied hardware, and installed new drawer pulls
- Applied 1 coat of Country Chic Paint’s Clear Wax to the entire piece for a protective finish, followed by Antiquing Dust for an authentic-looking aged effect

Glamouring up, has now become a whole lot more glamorous for me! This addition to our ensuite is simply delightful. :)
I hope you visit again! My #farmlifebestlife awaits more simple living, generous loving and constant learning — graced with an abundance of country chic character and sweet imperfections, both for me and for YOU! ❤
