Surface Preparation:

Before you paint, make sure your surface is clean, dry and free of mildew, loose or scaling paint, and other contaminants. Most projects can be painted without sanding, however, if the surface is glossy, we recommend you sand lightly with 120 grit sandpaper. Certain surfaces, such as mahogany, may bleed and should be primed with a stain blocking primer (such as Shellac). Click here to see our full surface prep tutorial

How To Use:

Stir well before and during use. Best results are achieved with Country Chic Paint brushes. Apply one coat and allow to dry at least 2 hours before applying a second coat. Add dimension to your project by using a different color for creating that time-worn look. To distress your piece, use a wet, lint-free cloth or super-fine grit wet/dry sandpaper. Wipe with a damp cloth and allow to dry.

Technical Details

Application Conditions: Apply only in dry conditions and when surface and ambient temperature is between 10°C (50°F) and 30°C (86°F). Temperatures must remain in this range for at least 4 hours after application. Do not apply when relative humidity is above 85%.

Thinning: Not normally recommended. If required for spray applications, thin to a maximum of 10% with clean water.

Dry Times: 30 minutes dry to touch. Re-coat or top-coat after 2 hours. Cooler temperatures, higher humidity, or excess film build will extend dry times. Apply wax after 24-48 hours for best finish.

Clean Up: Clean tools and equipment with warm, soapy water. Contact your local municipality or vendor for disposal instructions.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old lead paint from any surface you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH approved respirator to control lead exposure.
