Totally Teal Dresser
Natalie from A Ray of Sunlight updated her antique dresser with a beautiful coat of Jitterbug!Aren't antique dressers just the best? The details and quality build are some of the very best! With this dresser's beautiful detailing I had just the perfect color in mind for this one! Jitterbug is the most amazing shade of teal and thankfully it is now part of Country Chic Paint's standard line! Yay! Thank goodness it only took half a pint of paint so I can use it for another project! When we got this dresser it was missing a little bit of the beading on the drawer fronts. Since I didn't have too much time for this makeover, I simply removed all of the beading off of the 3rd drawer, then replaced the missing beading on the 2nd drawer by gluing on some of the extra beading. After that a simple prep job of filling in scratches and dings, then lightly sanding the whole piece was all that was needed. I sprayed 2 coats of Jitterbug on the entire piece, lightly distressed all of the edges and details and then sealed it with 3 coats of water based Polyurethane - just like the Clear Coat from Country Chic Paint! The finished product came out perfect and I cannot wait to paint another piece in Jitterbug! It's definitely one of my all time favorite colors! So run, don't walk! Go get some Jitterbug paint for your next project!

Hello! My name is Natalie, and I am the owner and creative mind behind A Ray of Sunlight. I have always loved anything to do with crafts, so it only seemed right when I started my career in painting and refinishing furniture. Growing up my parents taught me how to create, imagine the possibilities and transform things with a bit of work and paint. I wanted a career that would enable me stay home with my baby girl, and furniture does just that. Thank you for following along on my adventures of up-cycling and bringing light back to old outdated pieces.
