There’s something truly special about a furniture flip that blends artistry, heart, and purpose — and that’s exactly what you’ll find in this month’s Creator Spotlight featuring Shannon Blair, the talented maker behind Vintage Refined!
Known for her timeless finishes and effortless sense of style, Shannon has a gift for turning simple pieces into statement-worthy works of art. Her latest transformation (a beautifully refinished console/buffet) is no exception.
Starting with a full strip and bleach, Shannon revealed the table’s raw wood tones before creating a soft, layered paint wash using a custom blend of Country Chic Paint's Heavenly and Hearthwood using our 1.5" & 2" Oval Brushes, & used our Painting Sponges for the application of our Smoky Glaze. The combination adds warmth and depth while keeping the look light, airy, and natural. She finished the piece with a touch of Country Chic Paint's White Wax using our Wax Brush, giving it that gentle, velvety sheen we all love and highlighting every bit of the wood’s beautiful grain.
The result? A perfectly balanced finish that feels both rustic and refined — an instant classic that embodies Shannon’s signature “Vintage Refined” style.

💛 From the Heart
Beyond her talent in the studio, Shannon pours just as much heart into giving back to her community, this piece was created for an extra special purpose!
As she shared:
“I fall in love with every piece I refinish, but this one holds a special place in my heart because it’s being donated to a fundraiser I co-organize in support of childhood cancer awareness and research. Each year, I donate a refinished piece to Kathryn’s Krop 4 a Kure — an incredible event that raises funds for neuroblastoma research. Every dollar raised goes directly to the cause, and to date, we’ve proudly donated over $184,000 🥳. This year, we’re determined to break the $200k milestone — and we can’t wait to make it happen‼️”
Shannon’s passion for her craft and her dedication to making a difference are what truly set her apart — reminding us that creativity can be both beautiful and deeply meaningful.

We chatted with Shannon Blair to get the scoop on her creative process, favorite tools, and what sparks her inspiration. Her answers give a peek behind the magic of Vintage Refined and show exactly why we’re so excited to have her in the Country Chic Paint family!
What is your favorite CCP Color?
"Oh my goodness, I honestly can’t give you just one. If I had to pick my favorite neutral, it would be Sunday Tea. Although the design world has been saying for over a decade now that grey is the new dominant neutral in design, for me, it’s not, and I’ll always migrate to a beige or greige instead. In my opinion, it’s the most timeless and compatible color. My favorite out-of-the-box, vibrant color would be Jitterbug, especially for Art Deco pieces. It’s a really deep and fun color to add contrast to and let the creativity flow!"
Where do you find your design ideas or color palettes?
"Honest to goodness, I see my visions purely in my head. My educational background is in interior design. Alongside my husband, who is a tradesman, I have taken apart and put back together more houses than I can count over the last 20 years. I constantly say: my mind is always in a state of design. I don’t source images or flip through books before refinishing a piece, I just go with what my mind tells me by looking at it. Sometimes there is ebb and flow to the original thought and I just bend in the direction I now see it."
What is your favorite tool?
"It’s not necessarily a “tool” but I guess one could argue that it is considering it’s the most important step, for me, in the refinishing process, so that would be CCP brush soap. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product! Ensuring that my brushes, rollers and sponges are cleaned properly, translates to a more seamless application the next time I use them, and this is so crucial in order for me to refinish a piece exactly to my standards (and they are very high!)"
What’s a fun fact about you most people don’t know?
"Yikes! I’m not sure if this would be a fun fact, but I’m left-handed, and I also have green eyes. Only about 10% of the population is left-handed and about 2% have green eyes making it the rarest natural eye color worldwide, so I’d say that makes me pretty unique!"
How has being part of the DIY or refinishing community impacted you?
"The greatest impact for me would be Country Chic Paint acknowledging my work and reaching out to me with the opportunity to be a creator. I have used numerous paints over many, many years, and not one other paint line has ever recognized my work to this degree, so it truly had a significant impact on me. I have a Type A personality through and through, and I pour my heart into each and every piece that I refinish, so for CCP to recognize that with the opportunity to create for them, was the cherry on top of my labor of love!"
